PURPOSE OF THE SPELHOUSE SYMPOSIUM

The purpose of the HBCU Professional Development Symposium is to:

Provide a specialized, intergenerational opportunity for HBCU alumni to expand their knowledge of current skills necessary to obtain entry to careers in today�s market.
Prepare HBCU alumni job seekers to overcome obstacles and maximize the ability to enhance their career options.
Identify and/or expand opportunities for HBCU alumni that are seeking career changes.
Provide professional networking opportunities for HBCU alumni job seekers and employers.

THE SPELHOUSE PDS AUDIENCE

There are over 100 colleges in the United States that are identified by the US Department of Education as Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Collectively, HBCUs serve approximately 225,000 students each year. Talented alumni from these institutions live and work in major markets across the country.
Alumni , family and friends from these institutions are invited to attend PDS events.
This year we are specifically and uniquely looking to engage alumni that are one to ten years into their careers.
