GE Appliances and HBCU Connect Announce Winner of Engineering Scholarship: Congratulations to Malik Durant!

Posted By: Sofía Montiel on May 22, 2023 In a celebration of talent, diversity, and academic excellence, GE Appliances, a Haier company (GEA), and HBCU Connect are excited to announce the winner of the highly anticipated Engineering Scholarship. We are delighted to announce that Malik Durant has been awarded $1,000 for tuition, room & board, or books. We received a considerable number of submissions from highly accomplished students, making the selection process extremely difficult. We wish Malik the best of luck with this scholarship opportunity. The GE Appliances HBCU Connect Scholarship Program, a collaboration aimed at connecting Historically Black College & University students and graduates with exciting career prospects, internships, and scholarships, has been a resounding success. This partnership has demonstrated the power of collaboration and the importance of fostering opportunities for underrepresented communities. The Business Scholarship will open later this year for business, finance, marketing, and sales students. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to GE Appliances for their solid support and for making this scholarship program possible. Their commitment to diversity, education, and empowering talented individuals from HBCUs is praiseworthy. Together, we are making a meaningful impact and opening doors to a brighter future.
