Benedict Choir Wins again
Posted By: Marcus Jamel Adams on June 04, 2006 The Benedict College Gospel Choir won as the #1 choir in the nation from the National Black Music Cacus in New York City. The choir tied for 1st place with South Carolina State University. Benedict opened its show with New Directions "My hands go up." They next sung Myron Butler and Levi's "Set Me Free." From there the choir sang Darwin Hobbs "I give you Praise." as the mime team performed, then the choir sung "Imagine Me" by Kirk Franklin the choir then presented its original piece which is titled "Put All My Trust" (On the BCGC SAY THE WORD PROJECT) finally they closed the performance with Tonex's Alive as they recreated a dramatic scence with Jesus dying on the cross and rising as stage crew and dancers stepped in as actors. The choir won the awards for 1. Best Mime Team Presentation 2. Best Processional and Recssional 3. Best Grand Processional 4. Best Keyboardist 5. Best Accompaniment Section 6.
