Many of these institutions are located in urban areas, but there are also some that are nestled in rural communities, offering a unique experience that cannot be found in a city environment. In this article, we will discuss the best rural HBCUs. Tuskegee University Located in Tuskegee, Alabama, Tuskegee University is renowned for being one of the top HBCUs in the country. The university was founded in 1881 and has since produced numerous notable alumni, including civil rights activist Rosa Parks and astronaut Robert Henry Lawrence Jr. Tuskegee University excels in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and agriculture. Prairie View A&M University Established in 1876, Prairie View A&M University is located in Prairie View, Texas. The university is known for its strong programs in engineering, agriculture, and nursing. Prairie View A&M has a diverse student body and a rich history, with notable alumni including astronaut Robert Henry Lawrence Jr. and U.S. Congressman Al Green. North Carolina A&T is in Greensboro, NC with a population of 300K. How is that rural. And also A&T is not just the largest HBCU in NC but in the United States. Who ever wrote this article is not a journalist. If they have a journalist degree from where because they should revoke it!
