The Health Effects Institute (HEI) is seeking a motivated Research Assistant to support their core air pollution program and learn from experts across all of HEI's programs. HEI is a leading scientific institute, founded in 1980 to deliver high-quality, unbiased, and relevant knowledge on the health effects of air pollution in the United States, Europe, and throughout the world. HEI generally receives balanced funding from the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the global automobile sector. As a Research Assistant, you'll work closely with HEI's scientific staff in a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment located in the heart of Boston's downtown. This entry-level position is ideal for people with a science background who want to gain experience and define their educational and career development route. A bachelor's degree in life sciences, public health, environmental science, engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Preparing summary documents, assessing scientific literature, participating in meetings and events, and assisting with data visualization are all responsibilities. Strong interpersonal, writing, and data analytic abilities are required, as is familiarity with R/Python and GIS tools.
