Posted By: S. Moore on July 17, 2023 Prairie View A&M University has opened a $70 million engineering classroom and research building, ushering in an anticipated period of growth for Texas’ highest-producing college of Black engineers. Hundreds of alumni, students and stakeholders packed the space for a celebration last week that also served as new President Tomikia LeGrande’s first public event – a significant choice as the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering houses some of Prairie View’s most acclaimed programs and has been highly supported by previous administrations. The new facility will offer lab spaces designed to support multidisciplinary research, a maker space to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and classroom spaces for direct instruction.
