Simmons. The memoir details Dr. Simmons' extraordinary life, from her humble beginnings as the daughter of sharecroppers in East Texas to her historic appointment as the first African American president of an Ivy League University. The momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in the University's history and provides a unique opportunity to celebrate the remarkable journey of a visionary leader.
