Women's Golf Makes Season Debut at Alamance Country Club

Moore on September 20, 2023 BURLINGTON, N.C. – North Carolina A&T freshmen Paris Fieldings and Sofia Fernando had excellent debuts for the Aggies women's golf team, and sophomore Victoria Stutts started her second season at A&T with a solid showing during the first two rounds of the Elon University Elon Invitational played on the par-71, 6,871-yard Alamance Country Club golf course on Monday. The 15 teams participating played 36 holes on Monday, with the Aggies finishing in an eighth-place tie with Gardner-Webb with a 27-over 595. UNC Greensboro leads the tournament after shooting a two-round 7-over 575. The Host Elon Phoenix follows the Spartans in second place at 10-over 578, with the Radford Highlanders and the William & Mary Tribe tied for third at 12-over 580. Wofford rounds out the top-5 at 13-over 581. Stutts finished in a seven-way tie for 18th by firing a 4-over 146. She shot a 3-over 74 in the first round before shooting a 1-over 71 in the second 18. Fernando finished a three-way tie for 25th, one shot behind Stutts, with a 5-over 147. Fernando had a solid first-round collegiate debut with a 2-over 73. She shot 74 in the second round. Meanwhile, Fieldings finished behind both by carding a solid second-round 72. In her opening round as a college player, Fieldings shot a 5-over 76. Kennedi Lee and Jayla Rogers also participated in their respective season debuts. Lee shot a two-round 154, and Rogers carded a two-round 156.
