Slim & Husky's x Nike Terminator High: A Love Letter to Tennessee State University
|
Posted By: S. Moore on September 27, 2023 Both in the form of sneakers as well as monetary donations, Nike frequently celebrates the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). They’re continuing to cast a spotlight on these institutions for 2023, crafting an entire pack of Terminators dedicated to not only the schools themselves but also their alumni. As part of their celebration, the Swoosh has teamed up with Nashville’s own Slim & Husky’s, a local pizza chain that was founded by TSU graduates. Using the Terminator High as a base, the shop has essentially penned a love letter to their alma mater. The hits of red and blue, the animal print overlays, and the “1912” embroidered onto the forefoot, for example, are all a direct homage to Tennessee State University. Nods of their own, too, are present: the Slim & Husky’s logo is printed right onto the insoles, their name dresses the woven label, and “GET GEEK’D” is written on the backside of the tongue. Enjoy a detailed look at the Slim & Husky’s x Nike Terminator High via the official images ahead. At the time of writing this, an exact release date has yet to be confirmed; more details should surface soon, however, so sit tight. In other news, the Spelman College Nike Terminator High is also a part of the collection.
