TUSKEGEE, AL — Tuskegee University alumnus Kenneth L. Parker '94 has been appointed to the Attorney General's Advisory Committee (AGAC) by U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. Mr. Parker is a distinguished graduate of Tuskegee University and currently serves as the 45th United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio.

Parker is a lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Tuskegee University in 1994 with a bachelor's in political science and earned his law degree from Indiana University School of Law (Bloomington) in 1997.

"Kenneth's appointment serves as an inspiration to our entire Tuskegee University community, highlighting the impact our alumni can make in their respective fields, said Tuskegee President Dr. Charlotte P. Morris. "We congratulate him on this well-deserved honor and look forward to the positive changes he will bring to the legal community and society."

Parker's career in public service began in 1999 when he was appointed as an Assistant United States Attorney, with a primary designation in the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Division. His exemplary service led to his appointment as the District's Criminal Chief, a role he held from 2011 through 2019.

Prior to this, Parker served as the Chief of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force from 2010 to 2011. Parker's legal expertise was further honed during his tenure as a judicial law clerk for the late Honorable S. Arthur Spiegel, United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

In his role as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, Kenneth Parker serves as the chief federal law enforcement officer for more than five million residents in 48 of the 88 counties in Ohio. He oversees the investigation and litigation of all criminal and civil cases brought on behalf of the United States, along with matters that require defense on behalf of the nation.

Parker supervises an office of approximately 65 Assistant United States Attorneys and 60 support staff personnel in three offices located in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus. These cases encompass a wide range of legal areas, including narcotics, public corruption, civil rights, financial, cybercrime, firearms and gun violence, healthcare fraud, child exploitation, national security threats, immigration, human trafficking, and tax crimes.

Throughout his career, Kenneth Parker has maintained a deep connection to the community. He has been actively involved in the Department of Justice's Weed and Seed program, which focused on addressing community issues such as substance abuse, drug trafficking, and repeat violent offenders while simultaneously revitalizing neighborhoods through prevention and intervention strategies. For his unwavering dedication, Parker has been recognized by the Office, the Federal Executive Board of Greater Cincinnati, and the City of Cincinnati.

Kenneth Parker has also dedicated a significant portion of his free time to speaking to and mentoring youth in the community, urging them to steer clear of drugs and other issues that lead to crime and incarceration.
