The 5th Annual MACRO HBCU Summit (www.StayMACRO.com), presented by Prime Video will be on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Xavier University in New Orleans, LA. The microfestival will host an array of panels, conversations and brand activations.

The inaugural summit debuted on the campus of Howard University in 2019 with the mission to engage and educate students on a myriad of careers, opportunities and paths in the media and entertainment fields. This is the second stop of the summit in 2023. It follows MACRO’s first 2023 HBCU Summit on October 17, 2023 at Howard University, where appearances were made by Kickstarter CEO Everette Taylor as well as director Blitz Bazawule, who talked with students and shared a never before seen clip of Warner Bros. upcoming film, The Color Purple. Director Reginald Hudlin discussed with students his upcoming holiday comedy Candy Cane Lane starring Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross coming to Prime Video globally December 1. Additionally, Howard students were treated to a screening of the Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones led movie The Burial which is now available globally on Prime Video.

A host of entertainment industry executives are confirmed to appear at Xavier University including Charlese Antoinette, Kudzi Chikumbu, Mark Grigsby and as well as actor, musician, artist and storyteller Kofi Siriboe and summit moderator, Stacey Walker King, Chief Brand Officer, MACRO. The event will conclude with Prime Video’s Culture Rated x MACRO Block Party with local food trucks, DJs, raffles and giveaways.

The event is open to Xavier University students and alumni. All attendees must register to attend at https://macrohbcusummit.splashthat.com/.

This year, Prime Video will be joining MACRO to support and uplift the microfestival as the presenting sponsor.
