Posted By: Randi Payton on November 26, 2023 What’s New in the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Redesigned for 2024 with a bolder look and improved performance, the Volkswagen Atlas is the answer to hauling large families and cargo. The Atlas is a three-row mid-size SUV that seats 6 to 7 passengers, combining stunning aesthetics, advanced technology, and exceptional functionality. Manufactured in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the 2024 VW Atlas features a new exterior design that demands attention with a wider chrome grille, distinctive LED headlights, bold and muscular shape, new 18 to 21-inch alloy wheels, and redesigned taillights. The interior has also been refreshed with luxurious materials, comfortable seats, advanced technology, and spacious legroom for drivers and passengers. A new 12-inch floating infotainment touchscreen display and a 10.25-inch digital cockpit are configurable and more user-friendly. They house numerous functions, including wireless app connectivity, navigation, apps, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 45-watt fast charger. Power: The four-cylinder engine in the 2024 Atlas delivers more power than the previous six-cylinder it replaced. The turbocharged 2.0-liter V4 in the 2024 VW Atlas generates 269 horsepower. It is standard on all models, and an exhilarating V6 is available for those seeking more power. An eight-speed automatic transmission ensures seamless shifting and optimal power delivery, while the available all-wheel drive system provides enhanced traction and stability on various terrains. Models/Price: The 2024 VW Atlas offers six reasonably priced trim levels that include the Atlas SE ($39,075), SE with Technology ($43,015), Peak Edition SE with Technology ($47905), SEL ($49,795), Peak Edition SEL ($51,785), and the top-of-line SEL Premium R-Line ($53,805). Safety: The 2024 VW Atlas has a comprehensive suite of safety features and drive-assistance tech, including its IQ.DRIVE system, a hands-on semi-automatic system that includes lane-centering and obstacle detection. Other safety features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Fuel Economy: According to the EPA, the front-wheel drive Atlas averages 20 city/27 highway mpg, while the all-wheel drive model gets 19 city/26 highway mpg.
