Dr. April A. Stampley Named Vice President For External Affairs At Rust College

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on November 30, 2023 Dr. Robert M. Dixon, President of Rust College, has appointed Dr. April A. Stampley as the Vice President for External Affairs, effective November 1, 2023. Dr. Stampley brings over 12 years of experience in higher education, with a focus on organizational structure, strategic planning, and establishing and retaining external partnerships. She has a strong background in program evaluation, educational policies and procedures, and institutional assessment and accreditation. Dr. Stampley has served in various roles in the office of Academic Affairs, demonstrating expertise in strategic academic initiatives and K-12 partnerships, including leadership and coordination for Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit and the Adult Degree Learning Program (ADLP) – Complete to Compete (C2C). Dr. Stampley holds a bachelor’s degree from Alcorn State University, a master’s degree from Belhaven University, and a doctoral degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the Coalition of Women of Color in STEM (COWIS). On being introduced to the Rust College faculty and staff, Dr. Stampley stated, “I am excited and ready to work closely with President Dixon in establishing lasting relationships/partnerships that will be instrumental in promoting Rust College.” Dr. Stampley's appointment comes at a time when Rust College is making significant strides under the leadership of Dr. Robert M.
