Prairie View A&M University Highlights Exceptional Grads

Prairie View A&M University Highlights Exceptional Grads
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on December 06, 2023

As the fall semester at Prairie View A&M University draws to a close, we are pleased to announce the upcoming 28th Fall Commencement Convocation. Dr. Dietra Trent, executive director of the White House Initiative on HBCUs Office of the Secretary, will serve as the keynote speaker.

The semester was marked by unique challenges but was no match for the outstanding 646 undergraduate and eight doctoral candidates who will walk across the stage on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Over one-third of the undergraduate class identify as first-generation college graduates, a testament to the PVAMU tagline, “Pioneers emerge here.”

The University’s total alumni count will stand at over 82,634 Proud and Productive Panthers following the event.

Prairie View A&M takes immeasurable pride in recognizing their efforts and is honored to spotlight a few top-caliber grads:

* Justin Morrow, Bachelor of Science, Nursing, is described by his college as “the epitome of a successful student.” Justin is a member of Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority Inc.

Sigma Theta Tau International Honors and co-founder of PVNMO, a nursing mentor organization. Already in demand, Justin will begin working right after graduation at Houston Methodist on a Medical-Surgical unit.

* Joshua Evans, Bachelor of Science, Agriculture, excelled as a transfer student who was profoundly affected after the campus shut down during the pandemic. He returned to become a trailblazer in PVAMU’s renowned Meat Science Center at the University Farm and plans to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

* Christianna Woodard, Bachelor of Business Administration, carries the mantle of becoming a PVAMU graduate in honor of her grandmother, who could not attend the University after being accepted. Christianna completed a rigorous BBA program despite taking time off to care for a new baby. Her exceptional work ethic earned her a coveted membership in the Service Leadership Program with Gexpro Services.

Each student reflects the spirit of excellence that defines the Prairie View A&M community.
