For the whole month of December, we hit 22 organizations claiming to care about dismantling systemic racism or had an interest in social good. Sadly, only one organization was interested in the project/research. That's ok though. We knew that coming in. The purpose of this experiment was simply to put it out there... I will be continuing to send the complete denial diary and research paper to news outlets all over the world. You may even see the diary exist as a book soon. As an organization that empowers the public through investigative journalism and groundbreaking storytelling, I believe your commitment to unearthing original stories that hold powerful entities accountable aligns perfectly with the nature of my research. My work, documented in a blog entitled "Scapegoating Sanity: Denial Diary," comprises 21 entries detailing interactions with various institutions that profess a commitment to dismantling systemic racism. However, these organizations have consistently overlooked and ignored groundbreaking research that could catalyze genuine progress in this arena. Your mission to reveal injustices, expose threats to public safety, champion human rights, and shine a light on fraud and waste of taxpayer funds resonates deeply with the core of my findings. The Center for Investigative Reporting's legacy as a pioneer in nonprofit investigative journalism and your reputation for innovative, credible, and relevant reporting make you an ideal platform to bring this critical issue to the forefront. In a world grappling with a reckoning over racial injustice, it is paramount that we scrutinize the actions and inactions of those who claim to champion these causes. My research unveils a disturbing pattern of neglect and apathy from organizations that are ostensibly dedicated to fighting systemic racism. This disconnect between professed goals and actual engagement is a crucial story that needs to be told. Your expertise in producing multiplatform work and partnering with local and regional outlets could significantly amplify the reach of these findings, potentially leading to real-world change, from legal investigations to new laws and policy changes. The public interest, which is your bottom line, is directly served by exposing these discrepancies and holding these institutions accountable.
