2024 Genesis GV60 Crossover

2024 Genesis GV60 Crossover
Posted By: Randi Payton on February 05, 2024

The 2024 Genesis GV60 entered the luxury electric vehicle (EV) market, showcasing the brand's design, innovation, performance, and sustainability. My week-long test drive in the GV60 delves into the critical aspects of this new electrified crossover SUV.

Introduced to the Genesis lineup last year, the 2024 Genesis GV60 is distinctly designed but incorporates many luxury features found in other Genesis models. Distinguished as an EV, the GV60 abandons the large, prominent Genesis front Grille for a modern, smoother design.

Models/Price: The 2024 Genesis GV60 offers three trim levels, including the Standard ($53,350), Advanced ($61,900), and the top-of-line Performance ($70,900) MSRP.

Engine and Powertrain: The 2024 Genesis GV60 Performance all-wheel-drive model I tested generated a staggering 429 horsepower with a driving range of 235 miles from two electric motors, while the Advance model gets 314 horses with an average range of 264 miles per charge. This year, a new rear-wheel-drive model was added to the Standard model with a lower starting price and up to 294-mile range per charge.

The Performance model includes a Boost driving mode that gets 483 horses and races from 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds when activated.

The Standard model has dual motors with a 77.4-kWh upfront and a 168-kw motor in the rear. The Advanced model features a 74-kw motor and a 160-kw at the rear, while the Performance model has a 160-kw up front.

The GV60 battery can be fully charged on a DC fast charger in 18 minutes. An optional 92.4 kWh batter is also available. The EPA rates the Advanced trim at 103 city/86 highway MPGe. The Performance model is rated at 97 city/82 highway MPGe. However, the range improves with 19-inch wheels vs the 21-inch wheels.

The GV60 has many high-tech features, including a center-console gear selector that flips into a crystal ball when the car turns off. It also uses facial recognition and biometric fingerprint readers to unlock and start the vehicle without needing a key. Another unique feature of the Performance model is an advanced suspension system that uses a road-scanning camera to anticipate road imperfections. The system adjusts the vehicle and alerts the driver to potholes and other conditions ahead.
