Life-Size Noah's Ark Tops Tourism Lists in Kentucky Story by Richard Burkard

Knewz.com has confirmed it’s one of many ways the “Ark Encounter” markets itself, several years after it opened in northern Kentucky. The tourist attraction is a life-size depiction of Noah’s Ark, down to the measurements mentioned in the Biblical book of Genesis. A “cubit” from King James English is estimated at 18 inches long. The Bible indicates Noah and his family needed 120 years to build the ark. The developers of Ark Encounter needed two years and $100 million, but faced additional years of controversy. People living near the site took developer Ken Ham to court to block its construction. But critics also wondered why he made employees sign a chastity pledge, opposing premarital sex and same-sex marriage. "If you’re a religious organization, you can have a religious preference in hiring,” The Sun tabloid in Britain quoted Ham as saying. Ham certainly has a religious agenda.
