Golf on HBCU Campuses

Posted By: Ryan Alston on March 13, 2024 Why are there no Golf Course venues on any HBCU campuses? The Historical Golf Course Preservation Society is a private minority-owned organization. Our mission is to offer golf to minorities. We are here to change this narrative of exclusion. The HGCPS initiative is the "Black To Green" Golf Course Restoration Program. The plan is to have golf venues access at all 107 HBCU campuses. HBCUs and historical golf courses and clubs seem to be a perfect match for HBCU use. These facilities would be offered to athletic departments, faculty, students, and Alumni. Our Society has a proven curriculum for certification of Professional Golf Course Management. HGCPS aims to raise awareness of the lack of golf facilities at HBCU campuses.
