BEST FRIEND??
|
Posted By: Crystal Rhodes on April 15, 2005 Hey guys, Just wanted to vent a little. Two days ago, my car got broken into!! The stole my CD player, a set of CD headphones, my ashtray (???), cigarette lighter (???), and a bag from the trunk filled with car stuff (i.e car wax, air freshener, brake fluid, antifreeze, windshield washer fluid, tools to change a flat tire, etc.), and my car manual!! The situation was more irriatting than anything! At least they didn't really damage the car or take it for that matter. Anyway, as I realize each thing thats missing , I tell my best friend. Initially she's mad because the set of headphones was hers and it was an MP3 player or something. Then she starts asking, "Was anything else in that car mine!!???" So I'm thinking thats really inconsiderate of her . . . to be more worried about her own belongings that were missing!! I tell her I'm trying to focus on the positives in the situation, like that fact that I wasn't carjacked and injured, and at least I stil;l have the most valuable thing, the car!! Her response was, "That' a positive for you!! There's no brighter side for me!!!" Then she starts asking about her book of like 100+ CDs anbd her basketball that were in the trunk. I'm not even sure at the moment if they're missing but she starts fussing and cussing anyway(AT ME!!!) about how much it all cost. I hug up the phone on her. Later, I got a chance to look inthe trunk for her stuff!! And there was her basketball and book of CDs - UNTOUCHED!! So I kindly gathered all of her belongings from the trunk and sat them in her room, never saying a word to her!!! Hours later, I decided to admit to my wrongs earlier that day & apologize for hanging up the phone. She said nothing and now we're pretty much cool. Still she doesn't hesitate to mention her $50 headset that she's missing now every so ofetn when she thinks of music. I just say nothing because I know I did some yelling too, and hung up the phone on her, but I really think she approached that situation selfishly!! Her responce when I mention that I lost aa source of music, too: "But you don't love music like I do!!" Come on now, all black people love music!! What do you guys think???
