The inaugural CultureCon on Campus event saw hundreds of students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) converge on the campus of Clark Atlanta University. Hosted by CultureCon, known for fostering community among Black creatives and entrepreneurs in media and entertainment, this campus-focused conference targeted the next generation of Black storytellers and media professionals.

Clad in trendy attire, students eagerly participated in networking sessions, job fairs, and panels featuring industry experts and HBCU alumni. Keynote speaker Reesa Teesa shared insights on storytelling, drawing from her viral TikTok series.

The event aimed to address the lack of Black representation in the media industry, highlighting the importance of events like CultureCon for exposing young Black talent to industry professionals.

For attendees like Laila Shabazz and Makaela Reed, the event provided valuable educational opportunities and networking connections. Queenshe’ba O’Conner, a fashion major, sought wisdom and guidance from industry veterans like filmmaker Edward Buckles and Tarte Cosmetics' Donna Kirkland.

The event also emphasized the unpredictability of career paths, with attendees like Braxton Broady recognizing the importance of remaining open to unexpected opportunities. Overall, CultureCon on Campus served as a platform for empowerment, networking, and education for Black students pursuing careers in media and entertainment.
