Lil Durk Surprises Students at STARRY FIZZ FEST at Jackson State University

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on April 23, 2024 On Saturday, April 20, STARRY brought rapper Lil Durk to Jackson State University to surprise students at STARRY FIZZ FEST - a basketball skills competition to reward students with more than $333,000 in prizes and scholarships across four HBCUs this spring. Lil Durk, a basketball fan and HBCU supporter, hyped up the JSU Tigers, shooting hoops with four students selected from the crowd. He also signed and handed out STARRY merch and took photos with students. The winner from Jackson State will have the chance to go head-to-head against winners from Norfolk State, Hampton and Morgan State later this year for a non-student athlete NIL deal to become the next face of STARRY FIZZ FEST 2.0, plus a trip to NBA Tip-Off. Off the court, STARRY and the PepsiCo Foundation will award four students from each school $20,000 academic scholarships to foster their long-term educational and professional growth. STARRY FIZZ FEST was part of Jackson State University’s Thee I Love Bash, an epic end-of-year celebration for JSU students.
