TUSKEGGE MARSHALL UNIVERSITY TAKES GOLD: DOMINATING HBCU RIVALS IN PRESTIGIOUS BUSINESS COMPETITION

TUSKEGGE MARSHALL UNIVERSITY TAKES GOLD: DOMINATING HBCU RIVALS IN PRESTIGIOUS BUSINESS COMPETITION
Posted By: Catalina Deossa on April 25, 2024

Tuskegee University students secured the top spot at the National HBCU/MI Entrepreneurship and Innovation Business Plan Competition held in Atlanta last weekend, surpassing 22 other HBCUs with their exceptional business plan. The competition, styled after the popular show "Shark Tank," saw the students presenting a pioneering project—a digital comic book software program designed to promote STEM education and enhance skills among K-5 aged children in underrepresented communities. Their innovative approach earned them a prize of $15,000.

The winning team comprised Seanna E. Brooks, Kennedy Leggins, JaMiyah Cameron, and Raylon Autry, whose dedication and ingenuity shone through in their presentation. Guided by the expertise of Drs. Y. Essounga, S. Price, and Provost S.

Keith Hargrove, the students demonstrated not only their entrepreneurial acumen but also their commitment to making a positive impact in education.

Dr. S. Keith Hargrove, Provost and Senior Vice President of Tuskegee University, expressed pride in the students' achievement, citing it as a testament to the institution's commitment to excellence. He highlighted the recent successes across various disciplines, including first place wins in national competitions for building design and app development. The faculty's dedication to providing students with real-world experiences alongside rigorous academic programs has undoubtedly contributed to their success. Tuskegee University continues to foster a culture of innovation and empowerment, inspiring its students to reach new heights of achievement.
