NORTH CAROLINA HBCU CELEBRATES FOURTH MILLION-DOLLAR DONATION
|
Posted By: Catalina Deossa on April 26, 2024 Livingstone College has received a $1 million donation from an anonymous donor, marking the fourth consecutive contribution of this magnitude. Dr. Anthony J. Davis, the college's president, announced this news on April 19 to the Salisbury-Rowan community and college staff. The donor has remained unidentified but has consistently shown support for Livingstone's mission and vision. The funds from the donation will be used to refurbish a campus residence hall, which demonstrates the donor's desire to directly impact student life and enhance campus infrastructure. Additionally, Livingstone College has secured an Innovation Lounge Grant during the 2024 Retool Your School Contest, sponsored by Home Depot, highlighting its commitment to fostering collaboration and sustainability on campus. Although it was not confirmed whether the fourth contribution was made by the same benefactor as the previous donations, the ongoing generosity of anonymous donors highlights the crucial role philanthropy plays in supporting HBCUs like Livingstone College and ensuring their continued growth and success.
