STATS PERFORM AND URBAN EDGE NETWORK TEAM UP TO HIGHLIGHT HBCUs

STATS PERFORM AND URBAN EDGE NETWORK TEAM UP TO HIGHLIGHT HBCUs
Posted By: Catalina Deossa on July 03, 2024

Stats Perform and Urban Edge Network (UEN) have announced a comprehensive partnership aimed at significantly enhancing the visibility and coverage of athletes from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The collaboration seeks to celebrate and elevate the profiles of HBCU athletes, students, and their communities through UEN’s robust streaming platform, HBCU Plus. This platform offers round-the-clock access to live and on-demand HBCU sports events, original sports shows, films, podcasts, and more, accessible across multiple devices including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung TV, iOS, and Android.

The primary objective of this partnership is to provide new commercial opportunities for HBCUs through UEN’s extensive media platforms. By showcasing the stories and achievements of HBCU athletes, the collaboration aims to attract sponsors and advertisers seeking to align their brands with the rich cultural heritage and athletic prowess of HBCUs.

Stats Perform, renowned for its expertise in sports data and AI, will play a pivotal role in this partnership by introducing several initiatives to recognize and highlight standout HBCU athletes. Throughout the 2024 season, Stats Perform plans to select an HBCU+ FCS Player and Team of the Week, leading up to the prestigious HBCU+ FCS National Player of the Year Award.

This award ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Banquet on January 5th in Frisco, Texas. These initiatives aim not only to honor individual achievements but also to foster a deeper appreciation for HBCU athletics on a national scale.

In addition to awards and recognition, UEN plans to expand its content offerings with a new show dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of HBCU athletes. This show will benefit from Stats Perform’s comprehensive live sports data and expert research, enhancing the quality and depth of content available on UEN’s direct-to-consumer platforms.

The collaboration between Stats Perform and UEN has already received industry recognition, with Stats Perform’s FCS coverage being nominated for Best College Sports Partnership at the 2024 Hashtag Sports Awards in New York. This nomination underscores the impact and innovative approach of their joint efforts in the sports broadcast industry.

Overall, the Stats Perform and UEN partnership represents a strategic alignment aimed at amplifying the voices and achievements of HBCU athletes, expanding audience engagement through compelling content, and creating sustainable revenue streams through innovative sponsorship opportunities. By leveraging their respective strengths in sports data, media distribution, and storytelling, both organizations are committed to promoting diversity, celebrating excellence in sports, and enriching the fan experience within the HBCU community and beyond.
