CAROLINA PANTHERS AND BOA STADIUM TO HOST HBCU FOOTBALL CLASSIC

This initiative secures the Panthers' presence in Charlotte through 2045, with $650 million funded by the city and the remaining $150 million provided upfront by team owner David Tepper. The renovation project aims not only to modernize the stadium but also to facilitate new sporting events, including an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) football classic. This was announced during a recent meeting of the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Board of Trustees, where it was revealed that NCCU will participate in the HBCU Football Classic at Bank of America Stadium in both 2028 and 2029. This opportunity builds upon NCCU's previous game at the stadium against archrival North Carolina A&T in 2022, which drew over 35,000 attendees. The decision to host these events underscores Charlotte's commitment to sports and community engagement. By hosting such events, the city aims to enhance its reputation as a vibrant sports hub while boosting the local economy through increased tourism and hospitality revenues.
