HBCUs Make Excellence Possible: The Legacy of the Orange Blossom Classic
|
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on July 11, 2024 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have become the common theme in countless minority success stories. HBCUs continue to lead in producing over 70% of African American doctors and dentists, 50% of African American engineers, and 50% of African American public school teachers nationwide. I am excited to share an upcoming event that embodies their commitment to excellence and leadership: the Orange Blossom Classic. Scheduled for Labor Day weekend, the Orange Blossom Classic will feature a historic game day matchup between Alabama State University and North Carolina Central University. This event not only showcases thrilling athletic competition but also highlights how HBCUs make excellence possible through their significant contributions to education, sportsmanship, and community pride.
