University of the District of Columbia Team Wins 2024 Anthology Catalyst Award for Assessment & Institutional Effectiveness
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on July 15, 2024

The University of the District of Columbia’s (UDC) Center for the Advancement of Learning and Office of Planning & Institutional Effectiveness have been named winners of the 2024 Anthology Catalyst Award for Assessment & Institutional Effectiveness, which honors institutions that have successfully grown in their assessment practices and influenced positive behavioral change.

Founded in 2005, the annual Catalyst Awards recognize and honor innovation and excellence in the Anthology global community of practice, where millions of educators and learners work every day to redefine what is possible when leveraging technology. Winners are selected by a cross-functional team of Anthology experts who represent the very best in their field.

The award recognized the team from UDC for embracing “a cultural shift towards continuous improvement and data-informed decision-making by transforming their learning management system (LMS) into a central hub for learning and outcomes assessment, [and] showcasing the impact of a technology-driven, purposeful approach to assessment. This cultural shift benefits students by providing clear learning outcomes that enhance their academic lifecycle.

Faculty have improved their assessment practices using data visualization, fostering professional growth, and elevating educational quality whereas staff benefit from efficient academic management and a culture of data-driven decisions.”

This achievement also ensures UDC a place of honor at this week's Anthology Together conference, where the brightest minds in education convene to share insights and celebrate innovation. Kicking off this morning in Orlando, Florida, the event promises to be an enriching experience, spotlighting UDC’s impactful contributions.

Visit the Catalyst Awards website at https://www2.anthology.com/catalyst-awards for more information on UDC’s award-winning work.
