CBS SPORTS UNVEILS HBCU BASKETBALL SPOTLIGHT

Scheduled for December 28, the showcase will feature two exciting rivalry games hosted at prominent HBCU campuses. The event will commence with North Carolina A&T facing off against North Carolina Central (NCCU) at 2:00 PM ET. This matchup holds significant historical and regional importance, showcasing the spirited competition between two Division I HBCU programs in North Carolina. Known as the Eagle-Aggie showdown, it promises intense gameplay and a rich basketball tradition. Following the first game, at 4:00 PM ET, Howard University will visit Hampton University in another storied rivalry. The Howard-Hampton series is steeped in history, with both teams having competed fiercely on the basketball court over the years. This matchup not only highlights athletic rivalry but also celebrates the cultural and educational legacies of these institutions. Both games will be played on campus, enhancing the authentic experience by capturing the passion and energy of HBCU basketball. North Carolina A&T’s Corbett Sports Center and Hampton University’s Convocation Center will serve as vibrant backdrops for these high-profile matchups. CBS Sports aims to bring these games to a national audience, broadcasting them on the CBS Television Network and streaming them live on Paramount+.
