Improving the future and protecting lives is an ambitious mission, but it’s what we do at BAE Systems.

As a leading aerospace, defense, and security company, we work together to deliver a full range of products and services for air, space, land, and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support services. Learn more about our mission.

Our employees are trusted, bold, and innovative. They shine in a highly collaborative environment where everyone wants to see each other succeed – because they know the quality of our work truly matters. But while many people are drawn to us because of our mission-critical work, they stay because of our sense of community and opportunities to grow.

We believe your career should always be evolving, and we strive to provide our employees with the tools to do just that. Whether it’s gaining experience on the job, growing through mentorship, or critical-skill development, our teams will connect your passion for learning to key resources for career growth.

We know the members of HBCU Connect are passionate about career development. Check out some of the resources we offer that can help you reach your professional aspirations.

  • Employee resource groups: Our eight Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-led programs that are an important part of our commitment to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace. Open to all employees, ERGs provide a forum for learning, understanding, mentoring, networking, and cultivating professional growth. Learn more about diversity, equity, and inclusion at BAE Systems.
  • Tuition reimbursement: We offer a tuition reimbursement program for undergraduate or graduate degree programs that maintain or enhance skills directly related to your current job or that prepare you for other potential opportunities within the company.
  • Upskilling courses and self-guided education: Looking for a new skill or certification? Employees have access to thousands of instructor-led and self-paced courses, ebooks, study guides and other tools to grow at their own pace through an online learning platform available to everyone. Employees can earn certification incentives by completing critical-skills courses.
  • Leadership Development Program (LDP): Our Leadership Development Programs (LDPs) are designed for post-graduate, early-career professionals looking to accelerate their career through business exposure and mentorship. These offer a rotational structure to give you a unique experience.
  • Impact Awards: We understand a culture of recognition is important to keep people striving to be their best. We’re proud of our internal employee recognition program, "Impact," where we highlight thousands of employees annually who make a difference for our mission, culture, and values.

For a full list of our development opportunities including mentorship programs, high potential programs and people manager courses, visit our career growth page.
