The event, hosted by the Drum Major Institute’s Martin Luther King III and Arndrea Waters King, alongside Mi Familia Vota’s Hector Sanchez Barba, examined issues including political violence, voter suppression, and civil rights in 2024. Starting at 11:30 a.m., the event featured interactive panels moderated by MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart, engaging with pressing topics such as the preservation of democratic institutions and the importance of diverse voices in public life. Notable participants included Brandon Wolf from the Human Rights Campaign, National Women's Law Center president Fatima Goss Graves, Howard University’s Harold McDougall, and the University of Arkansas' Victoria M.
