YABOI NILO, born and raised in the Bay Area, has immersed himself in music for most of his life. He began playing the piano, trumpet, saxophone, and drums before high school and started writing music and making beats as a freshman. His sound blends trap beats with R&B-inspired lyrics, creating a distinct fusion of rap and R&B. Every song Yaboi Nilo creates is a personal reflection of his life, with each track representing a specific situation, whether uplifting or challenging. He sees music as a form of personal journaling, offering listeners an authentic connection to his experiences, both the highs and the lows, and reminding them they are not alone. Yaboi Nilo's career boasts several achievements. He has been recognized by and collaborated with his favorite artist, Iamsu, on the track "EX." He also worked with Oh3 on songs like "Fly" and "So I," which have gained over 15,000 streams. His single "Nike" became a global hit, accumulating over 50,000 streams and inspiring hundreds of user-generated videos. In 2020, he released his solo album Handle with Care and followed it up with Berman Joseph, a collaborative album with producer and artist Gav, which includes their single "Distance"that premiered live on the radio. In addition to creating sounds and lyrics, Yaboi Nilo was featured in the African American Shakespeare Theatre production of Cinderella and regularly appeared as a student in the Netflix original series 13 Reasons Why. Through his music, Yaboi Nilo explores the balance between the highs of partying and the lows of life, always staying grounded in his authentic story.
