The Coca-Cola Company Launches The World Is My Yard, Offering HBCU Students Resources, Opportunities, and Experiences

The Coca-Cola Company Launches The World Is My Yard, Offering HBCU Students Resources, Opportunities, and Experiences
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on October 18, 2024

The Coca-Cola Company has launched The World Is My Yard, an HBCU-centered platform available via the company’s +one app. The World Is My Yard is an exclusive gateway that provides HBCU students with access to a wide range of invaluable resources, engaging content and on-campus experiences.

Centered around three pillars, the platform aims to celebrate the culture and magic of HBCUs, prepare students for world readiness, and refresh and renew their mindsets. It provides a space for them to navigate through their academic journeys while working toward post-collegiate aspirations.

“The World is My Yard builds on The Coca-Cola Company’s legacy of supporting HBCU schools and communities through programs and initiatives that benefit students and celebrate the rich culture and legacy of HBCUs,” said Stephanie Eaddy, Cultural Marketing Lead, North American Operating Unit at The Coca-Cola Company. “This exclusive platform brings together resources and experiences for students in one convenient location.”

World readiness offerings lead to academic and professional excellence

The World Is My Yard provides opportunities to help students prepare for post-graduate life via access to internship and externship programs, the HBCU ambassadorship, as well as online course materials to help bridge the gap beyond the classroom.

Additional offerings include:
• ZIYNX: Access to ZIYNX Academy, an online micro internship for student-athletes to help prepare them for the transition from sports into the workforce.
• Project XL: Project XL, powered by Accenture Song and Urban Edge Network, offers customizable courses in leadership, innovation, and strategic thinking. This innovative program aims to build a new talent pipeline and connect students from underrepresented HBCUs with leading companies for training and upskilling opportunities.

The magic of HBCU culture is celebrated

One of the most exciting aspects of attending an HBCU is the culture and magic that takes place on and off the yard. The platform adds to the captivating spirit of the HBCU experience by providing a space for students to stay in the know on key events in one place.

Students can also celebrate academic achievement and school pride during events hosted on several HBCU campuses at select Classics, Homecomings and other traditional events. Attendees will be treated to surprise and delight moments inclusive of new product sampling, merchandise giveaways and more.

Refresh and refuel student mindsets with additional experiences and perks

Through The World Is My Yard, The Coca-Cola Company will help students make connections with community organizations and initiatives that align with their passions. Access to exclusive events, discounts and subscriptions for premium services will be among the additional perks provided to users as part of the refresh and renew pillar.

HBCU students who wish to utilize The World Is My Yard can sign up using their college email address to gain access. For more information and to download the +one app, please visit https://www.coca-cola.com/us/en/offerings/...
