Born on August 11, SLIQUE JAY ADAMS, known simply as Slique, is a distinguished balladeer from Chicago, with roots in both the south and west sides of the city. Raised in a musically-inclined family, his father was a multi-talented musician in an R&B/gospel band, and his great-grandmother was also a singer. Slique's music, a blend of rhythm, blues, soul, gospel, pop, dance, and hip-hop, focuses on themes of love and relationships. In May 2009, Slique released his debut album, "Rhythm & Ghetto Soul," featuring the top 20 single “Your Body” which achieved over 15,000 BDS spins. He has performed at prestigious events like The Urban Network Conference, the Stevie Wonder & KJLH Annual MLK Day Parade & Concert, and Jamie Foxx’s Satellite “The Foxx Hole.” His participation in the Teddy Pendergrass Legendary Tribute alongside artists like Patti Labelle and Boys II Men is notable. Slique has shared stages with prominent artists including Charlie Wilson, Ruben Studdard, Avant, Steve Harvey, Tank, Rick Ross, and K. Michelle. A viral video of Slique and R. Kelly performing “A Change Is Gonna Come” has amassed millions of views.
