Scam Ohio toll texts continue to perplex drivers

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on March 07, 2025 I RECENTLY TRAVELED TO CLEVELAND VISITING THE WESTERN RESERVE HISTORIC SOCIETY FOR A LOOK AT SOME EXHIBITS DURING BLACK HISTORY MONTH THAT MEANS I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING FROM COLUMBUS TO CLEVELAND OH HOW ABOUT MY VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY MOVED TO A CAR DEALERSHIP TO GET A INSPECTION ON NEEDED REPAIRS, THIS WAS IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS AS I AM WORKING TO MAKE ELYNOR AND FAMILY GREAT AGAIN A TEXT COMES THROUGH SAYING I HAD 1 DAY TO MAKE PAYMENT ON A OUTSTANDING TOLL FROM OHIO TURNPIKE AND RESPOND WITH A "Y" SEND, THEN COPY LINK TO GO TO PAYMENT PAGE THERE ARE ALWAYS OCCURRENCES AND OBSTACLES ARISING WHEN THE GOING GETS GOOD, THEY OBSTACLES HAVE AN AGENDA A "NOTE TO SELF" TASK LIST OF WAYS TO INTERCEPT TOUCHDOWNS! "HONK HONK" HERE WE HAVE SOME INFORMATION ON SCAM TEXTS BEING SENT FOR TOLL PAYMENTS "Unaware of a scam purporting to collect unpaid Ohio tolls, Lori McCarthy of Trenton, Ohio, responded to a text Sunday that said her vehicle had an outstanding toll charge and to avoid paying an excessive late fee of $69.99, she should settle her balance of $6.99. “I just followed the link, put in my information, and when I did that, the screen just went blank,” she said Monday. “So I did it again and it went blank again.” This prompted her to research turnpike toll information, and she first learned there was an ongoing scam.
