Cheyney University is introducing the Grow Pennsylvania Tuition Waiver Program
Posted By: James Burrell on April 24, 2025

Cheyney University is proud to participate in the Grow PA Tuition Waiver Program—a powerful initiative that helps out-of-state students pay in-state tuition while supporting Pennsylvania’s workforce in high-demand careers.

Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Grow PA Waiver, you must:

Be an out-of-state resident
Be a first-year student enrolling for the 2025-26 academic year
Have a minimum 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
Enroll full-time and in-person in an approved program at Cheyney University
Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for federal financial aid
Not hold a bachelor’s degree
Sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) agreeing to repay the waiver (plus interest) if the work/residency requirement is not met

Award Details
Receive in-state tuition for up to 4 academic years
Note: Out-of-state fees still apply and are not covered by the waiver

Work & Residency Commitment
After graduation, you must:

Live and work in Pennsylvania in an in-demand occupation
Serve one year for each year you received the waiver (up to 4 years)

⚠️ Important: If you don’t meet the work or degree requirements, you will be required to repay the waiver.
