The women’s 4x100m relay, Erasmus, Broderick, DeFrand & Moody win events
The USC track and field teams continued their strong season as the women's 4x100m, Ashley Erasmus, Racquil Broderick, Dajaz DeFrand and Samirah Moody all won events to lead the Trojans during the final day of the Mt. SAC Relays being held at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif. today (April 19).

The women's 4x100m relay team of senior Samirah Moody, junior transfer Dajaz DeFrand, sophomore Madison Whyte and junior Jassani Carter got the running portion of the meet started with a bang by winning the Elite 4x100m competition with an NCAA-leading time of 42.36. That time also moves the quartet into second on the Trojans' all-time list. USC's time is also No. 2 on the world list behind only Team USA Red's time of 41.74.

Freshman Ashley Erasmus won the women's shot put Elite competition with a best mark of 57-11.00 (17.65m). She now has won all five shot put competitions she has entered during the outdoor season, throwing at least 57 feet in each meet.
Sophomore Racquil Broderick won the men's Elite discus throw competition with a best mark of 202-6 (61.74m). He has had the top collegiate mark and has thrown over 200 feet in all five meets this season.

DeFrand won the women's Elite 100m competition with a time of 11.35 (-1.3). Junior Jassani Carter was sixth with a time of 11.52 (-1.3), freshman Tiana Eyakpobeyan was eighth with a time of 11.57 (-2.2) and freshman Olivia Pace was 10th with a time of 11.62 (-2.2).

Senior Samirah Moody won the women's Elite 200m dash with a season-best time of 22.58 (+0.8). That time was her fastest in the 200m since the 2023 Pac-12 Championships and currently ranks fourth on the NCAA descending order list. Junior Christine M. Mallard placed fifth with a season-best wind-legal time of 23.03 (+0.8).

Junior JC Stevenson placed second in the men's Elite long jump with a season-best leap of 26-3.75/8.02m (+1.8).

His jump was the top mark by a collegian in the event and moved him to first on the NCAA descending order list.

Sophomore Nonah Waldron placed fourth in the women's Elite 100m hurdles race with a time of 13.19 (+0.0). The race winner was Olympic medalist and two-time NCAA champion Kendra Harrison of Adidas who had a time of 12.70.

Sophomore Reese Garland placed fourth in the women's Elite discus throw with a mark of 181-9 (55.46m), just two inches off her personal best.

Sophomore Jenna Gallaway placed fifth and junior transfer Karyssa Owens sixth in the women's College/Open hammer throw competition. Gallaway had a season-best throw of 189-6 (57.76m) in the final round. Owens had a best mark on the day of 188-0 (57.30m) which came in the third round.
Graduate transfer Taylor Banks was second in his heat and sixth overall in the men's Elite 100m dash with a time of 10.26 (+1.2).

Junior Elias Gerald tied for sixth in the men's Elite high jump with a clearance of 7-0.50 (2.15m).
Junior Lauren Reed placed sixth in the women's Elite triple jump with a season-best wind-legal jump of 41-8.25/12.72m (+0.4).
Sophomore Nathan Cumberbatch placed sixth in the men's Elite 800m race with a time of 1:48.17.
Sophomore Alyssa Hope placed eighth in the women's Elite long jump competition with a season-best leap of 19-11.75/6.09m (+1.8).
Among the recent Trojans at Mt. SAC this week, Tade Ojora won the men's Elite 110m hurdles, Johnnie Blockburger was third in the men's Elite 400m race, Allie Jones placed third in the women's Elite heptathlon and Brady Palen took fourth in the men's Elite high jump competition.

The USC track and field team will next be in action at the annual USC-UCLA Dual Meet to be held at Drake Stadium in Westwood, Calif. on May 4.
