Posted By: Hija Chang on May 13, 2025 GRAMMA Some of us are fortunate to have you as our second MotheR The Gramma of HBCUConnect Moss Staff is now an Angel-Elynor Everest Lemon Coleman PricE (Ekel) Ask Will Moss the type of Woman he wants to be in his camp, a Woman like his GrammA' Never did she complain or say the task was too harD Ekel came from a family with 9 siblingS She was a woman with many skills - Seamstress Home Maker Hair Stylist Chef Decorator Child Care Overseer Comedian Church Humstress Artist Accountant Professional Shopper Confidante Mother Model ProtectoR My Gramma only fussed when I was being un lady like: My cousins and I were playing jump rope in front of the house, and my older cousin was saying "Shut Up" and us younger gals had to pick a switch and get a swat on our legs; Gramma did not want us telling each other to "Shut Up" She spared my older cousin because the Big Older Brothers were on the scene: Gramma kept my cousins bossy role in tact and allowed her to stay in chargE She walked me around the corner to the Bus Stop every morning in elementary school 1st - 3rd grade; She and my father and Doggie Reggie walked me to bus stoP; Before school she would me breakfast daily: Bacon, Cream of Wheat or Oatmeal; Then when waiting to head out she would sing us (me neighber Tracy and moi) a song: "Ackabaca Soda Cracker Ackabackboo If Your Daddy Chews Tobacca He's a Dirty Doo, Out Goes The Rat, Out Goes The Cat, Out Goes The Lady With The SeaSaw Hat" If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
