OUTSTANDING FEMALE STATE EMPLOYEE
|
Posted By: Jehan Bunch on June 20, 2006 SHIRLEY B. CALDWELL NAMED 2006 OUTSTANDING FEMALE STATE EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION Shirley B. Caldwell, Student Services Program Coordinator, at South Carolina State was recently recognized for her exemplary service to the State and its citizens by being named the 2006 Outstanding Female State Employee of the Year. The award was received during the annual meeting of the South Carolina State Employees Association (SCSEA). Caldwell, of Orangeburg, S.C., has more than 30 years of service with South Carolina State having held a number of positions including being an administrative specialist and pre-school teacher. Currently, she works in the office of the Registrar. Also recognized among the “Outstanding Young Women of America” as well as a recipient of the “Positive Image Award,” Caldwell serves as a volunteer with the Cancer Outreach Program, is a member of Missionary Baptist Church in St. Mathews, S.C., and a member of the NAACP. Caldwell’s greatest work and contribution to the SCSEA and her community can best be defined as “service that she renders to others.” “I am pleased that one of our dedicated employees has received the honor of being named the 2006 Outstanding State Employee of the Year by the South Carolina State Employees Association,” stated President Andrew Hugine Jr. “Being selected from almost 20,000 members of SCSEA is certainly a tribute to Mrs. Caldwell’s commitment to providing excellent service to the students of SC State University and the citizenship of the State of South Carolina.” The members of the SC State University family are very proud of Mrs. Caldwell; join me in congratulating Mrs. Caldwell on this well deserved honor, one which brings noted recognition to her and SC State University.
