Sandra Pepa Denton hosts Party With A Purpose for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital Bash For BET Weekend

Sandra Pepa Denton hosts Party With A Purpose for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital Bash For BET Weekend
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on June 09, 2025

What:
During BET Weekend, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® and hip-hop icon and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Sandra “Pepa” Denton hosted the Rhythm & Kicks Sneaker Bash to bring together music, sneaker culture, and purpose. Held at an exclusive residence in the Hollywood Hills, the event was a standout moment for the organization’s spring campaign season—designed to cultivate a culture of generational giving and mobilize a new wave of Millennial parents and supporters.

Guests experienced soul-stirring live performances from Gogo Morrow, MAJOR., Trevor Jackson and an eye-opening spoken word performance from St. Jude patient and survivor Sabrina. The evening featured a curated sneaker showcase, gourmet food, and a lively silent auction—all in service of St. Jude lifesaving mission. Pepa’s presence brought a timely focus to World Sickle Cell Day (June 19) and the urgent need to support families navigating childhood illness. In honor of the event, brand integration platform, Systm, made a generous $10,000 dollar donation to support the hospital's cause.

Why:
In partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Rhythm & Kicks Sneaker Bash event spotlighted the need for continued research and care around sickle cell disease—a condition that disproportionately impacts the Black community. Pepa’s powerful presence brought added attention to this critical cause and the work of St.

Jude, where families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food—because all they should worry about is helping their child live.

The night emphasized the power of community—especially as we inspire the next generation to give forward and stand with families facing the unimaginable.

Who:
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Sandra “Pepa” Denton, St. Jude patient survivor Sabrina, actor and singerTrevor Jackson, DJ Spinderella, Actor Christopher Reid, “Kid” of Kid n Play, recording artist Elijah Blake, Grammy nominated singer and songwriter Nija and more music and sneaker culture influencers, industry leaders, and supporters united for purpose.

When:
Saturday, June 7, 2025

About the Partnership:
As host of Rhythm & Kicks, Sandra “Pepa” Denton joined forces with St. Jude to amplify awareness for sickle cell disease and support families impacted by life-threatening illnesses. This event kicks off the cultural lead-up to BET Weekend while aligning with the mission of St. Jude—to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.
Let’s turn style into impact. Let’s turn rhythm into hope. Continue to support the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® by donating at https://monks-com.tmailroute.net/x/d?c=465...
