Florida A&M University Opens Nominations for 2025 40 Under 40 Awards

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on June 09, 2025 Florida A&M University (FAMU) is proud to announce the call for nominations for the 2025 FAMU 40 Under 40, an honor celebrating the impact and excellence of young alumni who are making meaningful contributions in their professions and communities. Jointly presented by the Office of Communications and the Office of University Advancement, this prestigious recognition highlights outstanding Rattlers under the age of 40 who exemplify FAMU’s legacy of leadership, innovation, and service. “This program is more than a celebration of success—it’s a platform that connects generations of Rattlers and amplifies the stories of those who continue to carry the FAMU torch into boardrooms, classrooms, laboratories, and communities across the globe,” said Alonda Thomas, Ph.D., vice president and chief marketing and communications officer, at FAMU. Nomination Criteria To be considered for the 2025 class, nominees must meet the following requirements: • Be an official graduate of Florida A&M University • Have received a FAMU degree prior to 2020 • Be under the age of 40 as of October 17, 2025 • Have donated a minimum of $600 to FAMU within the last five years • Be willing to pay a $650 induction fee and attend the award ceremony if selected Event Details • Event Name: FAMU 40 Under 40 Award Ceremony • Date: October 17, 2025 • Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. • Location: FAMU Grand Ballroom 1628 S Martin Luther King Jr Blvd Tallahassee, FL 32307 Selected honorees will also receive early access to purchase event tickets and tables following the August selection deliberation. Important Dates • Nominations Open: June 6, 2025 • Nominations Close: July 1, 2025 • Induction Fee Due: August 18, 2025 This annual tradition is part of FAMU’s broader mission to uplift alumni while encouraging continued philanthropic support and engagement with the University.
