Florida A&M University and Metropolitan College of New York Partner to Create Pathway Program in Supply Chain Management

Florida A&M University and Metropolitan College of New York Partner to Create Pathway Program in Supply Chain Management
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on October 07, 2025

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), has announced a new academic partnership with a Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY). The collaboration establishes a direct pathway for MCNY’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) graduates to pursue a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management (MS-SCM) at FAMU.

This initiative reflects both institutions’ shared mission to expand access to higher education and prepare students from historically underrepresented communities for leadership in business and global commerce.

“This partnership represents an important step forward for our students,” said President Charles J. Gibbs, Ed.D., Metropolitan College of New York. “Our scholars come to MCNY with resilience, determination, and a clear sense of purpose. Through Purpose-Centered Education, they learn to turn those qualities into leadership and impact. Working with FAMU, one of the nation’s most respected HBCUs, allows us to extend that mission into one of the fastest-growing and most in-demand career paths—Supply Chain Management. Together, we are creating pathways that empower our graduates to pursue meaningful careers and strengthen the communities we serve on local, national, and global levels.”

“Florida A&M University is honored to partner with Metropolitan College of New York in reflection of our shared commitment to expanding access to graduate education and preparing the next generation of leaders in supply chain management,” said President Marva B. Johnson, J.D., Florida A&M University. “We look forward to the continued academic and professional growth of these scholars as they learn how to improve efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction and ensure product cost effectiveness through our program.”

Building Bridges in Business Education
Through this agreement, MCNY graduates who have earned a 3.0 GPA or higher are invited to apply to FAMU’s MS-SCM program. The partnership includes application fee waivers, specialized advising, and eligibility for financial assistance for qualified applicants.

The collaboration also introduces opportunities for joint academic programming, faculty engagement, and professional development in business, logistics, finance, and technology. These shared initiatives help students strengthen their understanding of global supply chain systems and prepare for leadership roles in an evolving marketplace.

“This partnership highlights the strength of MCNY’s business curriculum,” said Associate Dean Mahbubul H. Joarder, Ph.D., MCNY School for Business.

“It connects our students to an advanced graduate program that builds on their foundation in management, strategy, and applied learning while opening the door to high-impact careers in supply chain management. This is an exciting and emerging field of study for our students, one that combines innovation, analytics, and global business strategy. It prepares them to meet new challenges and take part in shaping the future of how industries operate.”

Shared Mission of Access and Purpose
MCNY and FAMU both serve students who exemplify the transformative power of education. Each institution was founded on the belief that access to quality education can change the trajectory of individuals, families, and entire communities. This partnership builds on that legacy by providing a clear, supportive bridge from undergraduate to graduate study, linking purpose-driven learning to professional opportunity in a rapidly growing global field.
