Posted By: Laura Van Brackle Sims on November 24, 2025 Hello HBCU CONNECT community, My name is Laura Sims, Hampton University alum and Program Manager for Operation HOPE’s 1MBB NEXT GEN initiative. I’m excited to share this opportunity with HBCU students, alumni, and members of the Divine Nine who are interested in entrepreneurship or in serving as mentors for emerging student entrepreneurs. 1MBB NEXT GEN is a no-cost national program created specifically for the HBCU community and is part of a Clinton Global Initiative Commitment to Action. Our mission is to support aspiring entrepreneurs with credible guidance, practical resources, and a supportive network that helps transform ideas into action. Participants in NEXT GEN receive: Business and e-commerce training One-on-one mentorship with Divine Nine professionals Workshops focused on clarity, confidence, and business readiness A pathway into Operation HOPE’s comprehensive 1MBB business development program We are proud to already be collaborating with institutions such as Clark Atlanta University, Alabama State University, and Grambling State University, with additional partnerships on the horizon. Whether you are a current student interested in launching a business or a Divine Nine member looking to mentor young entrepreneurs, I invite you to learn more or register through our dedicated page here: 1MBB NEXT GEN information and registration page https://portal.operationhope.org/Programs/... I’ve also included a brief 60-second introduction video in this post that provides an overview of NEXT GEN and what participants can expect. If you are part of the HBCU community and would like to learn more, ask questions, or explore how to get involved, feel free to connect with me here on HBCU CONNECT. I look forward to meeting many of you and supporting your NEXT GEN journey.
