Posted By: Hija Chang on December 29, 2025 BY DEBORAH WALKER SALISBURY, N.C. — Livingstone College is proud to announce that acclaimed scholar, cultural critic, and best-selling author Dr. Michael Eric Dyson was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters during the College’s 2025 Winter Commencement Ceremony on Friday, December 12, in Varick Auditorium. Widely regarded as one of the nation’s most influential public intellectuals, Dyson has spent more than four decades elevating conversations on race, class, social justice, hip-hop culture, theology, and the Black experience in America. His body of work, which includes more than 25 published books, extensive national commentary, and teaching appointments at top-tier universities, continues to shape public discourse and inspire emerging leaders around the world. http://livingstone.edu/livingstone-college...
