Dr Norma Solomon White Commemorative Bench Dedication

Florida A&M University (FAMU) was the site of a commemorative bench dedication honoring Norma Solomon White, LHD. installed by the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. on Oct. 16, 2025. White was the first female member of the famed Marching “100” band and was initiated into the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in 1950. She was appointed to the first FAMU Board of Trustees in 2001, where she served as vice chair for two years. White also served as South Atlantic regional director, international first vice president, international president of the Educational Advancement Foundation, and international president of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. The commemorative bench serves to honor White’s legacy and lasting impact and is a timeless tribute to her leadership, service, and sisterhood.
