Team Gaither is led by Chennis Berry of South Carolina State and Maurice Flowers of Johnson C. Smith – two coaches who have a proven track record of delivering championship-caliber seasons for their respective programs. In his first season at the helm, Jackson led Prairie View A&M to a 10-4 campaign and the program's first SWAC title since 2009. Gray, meanwhile, capped off his tenure at Albany State by winning the SIAC championship and posting a 12-2 record in 2025 before accepting the head coaching job at Florida A&M.
