HBCU Standout Cobie Durant Shines Bright for LA Rams in Playoff Run

HBCU Standout Cobie Durant Shines Bright for LA Rams in Playoff Run
Posted By: Will Moss on January 28, 2026

In the high-stakes world of the NFL playoffs, one player has been making waves for the Los Angeles Rams: Cobie Durant, a defensive back hailing from the proud tradition of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

This past Sunday, Durant delivered a performance that has the HBCU community buzzing with pride. The former South Carolina State standout intercepted Bears quarterback Caleb Williams twice in the first three quarters, helping the Rams secure a 20-17 victory over the Chicago Bears in the NFC Divisional Playoff game.

Key Takeaway: Cobie Durant's two crucial interceptions in the playoff game showcase the immense talent and potential of HBCU athletes on the NFL's biggest stage.

This latest playoff success is nothing new for Durant, who has been making a name for himself with his postseason heroics.

The fourth-year defensive back now has three playoff interceptions this season, and his four interceptions in his last four playoff games tie him for the second-most postseason picks in Rams franchise history.

"That cold weather ain't stop nothing. That's really all I gotta say bout that. We just came out here, played a hell of a game, man. Played Rams football. Played 11 as one and just continued to fight man. Continued to fight, that's all it is."

Durant's unwavering determination and focus have been instrumental in the Rams' playoff run. The HBCU product credits his renewed commitment to his faith and daily routine as the driving force behind his recent success.

As the Rams prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game, Durant remains unfazed, treating it as "just another game." However, for the HBCU community, his continued excellence on the national stage is a testament to the talent and resilience of their student-athletes.
