MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Spring Hill College Badgers, a proud member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), faced off against the Florida Tech Panthers in a hard-fought doubleheader to kick off the new baseball season. Although the Badgers ultimately dropped both games, the team showcased their grit and determination, demonstrating the excellence that HBCU student-athletes bring to the field.

In the first game, the Badgers rallied late but fell short, losing 10-9 to the Panthers. Sophomore outfielder John Smith had an impressive performance, going 3-for-5 at the plate with a home run and 4 RBIs. Junior pitcher David Johnson also contributed to the Badgers' effort, striking out 6 batters in 6 innings of work.

The second game was another close affair, with the Badgers once again coming up just short, losing 11-9. Freshman infielder Michael Williams had a breakout performance, going 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs. Senior captain and pitcher Ashley Davis showed her resilience, pitching 7 innings and recording 8 strikeouts.
