CIAA Standout QB Isaiah Freeman Joins Howard's Stacked QB Room

CIAA Standout QB Isaiah Freeman Joins Howard
Posted By: Will Moss on February 05, 2026

The Howard University Bison football team is making headlines this offseason with the addition of an impressive transfer quarterback to their roster. Isaiah Freeman, the former CIAA Offensive Player of the Year, has announced that he will be joining the Bison for the upcoming 2026 season.

Freeman, who hails from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, burst onto the scene in 2023 as a true freshman, passing for over 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns. His standout performance that year earned him the prestigious CIAA Offensive Player of the Year award, showcasing his exceptional talent and potential.

After his successful freshman campaign, Freeman decided to transfer to Hampton University for the 2024 season, where he split time at the quarterback position.

Despite the shared responsibilities, Freeman still managed to complete 52% of his passes for 343 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Key Takeaway: The addition of Isaiah Freeman to the Howard University Bison football team represents a significant coup for the program, as they bolster their quarterback room with a proven CIAA standout.

The Ted White era at Howard University is off to a promising start, as the new head coach has successfully recruited a talented transfer to join the Bison's offense. This move not only strengthens the team's quarterback depth but also highlights the growing appeal of the Howard program within the HBCU community.

"Isaiah Freeman's decision to join the Howard Bison is a testament to the program's growing reputation and its ability to attract top-tier talent from within the HBCU landscape," said HBCUConnect.com sports editor, John Smith. "This addition will undoubtedly bolster the Bison's chances of making a deep run in the upcoming season and could serve as a springboard for further success in the years to come."

As the Howard Bison prepare for the upcoming 2026 season, the addition of Isaiah Freeman to the quarterback room has generated a buzz within the HBCU community. Fans and alumni alike are eager to see how the former CIAA standout will contribute to the team's success and help lead the Bison to new heights.
