Posted By: Will Moss on February 22, 2026

The Bowie State Lady Bulldogs capped off their remarkable regular season with a dominant 90-44 victory over the Lincoln (PA) Lady Lions. The win marked the end of an impressive eight-game win streak for the Lady Bulldogs, who finished the regular season with an impressive 18-7 overall record and a 11-5 conference record.

Leading the way for Bowie State was senior guard Mia Smith, who erupted for a season-high 31 points on a sizzling 75% shooting from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. Smith also contributed nine rebounds and three steals to her standout performance. The only other Bulldog in double figures was Afia Owusu-Mensah, who added 10 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Key Takeaway: The Bowie State Lady Bulldogs' dominant victory over Lincoln (PA) not only capped off an impressive regular season run, but also secured the number-one seed for the Northern division in the upcoming CIAA tournament. This is a significant achievement for the HBCU program and a testament to the team's hard work and success this season.

From the opening tip, the Lady Bulldogs set the tone, scoring the first 11 points and outscoring the Lady Lions 17-2 in the first five minutes.

Bowie State's dominance continued throughout the game, as they outscored Lincoln 44-14 in the paint, showcasing their prowess in the restricted area.

As a result of their victory and Virginia State's loss to Virginia Union, the Bowie State Lady Bulldogs have earned the number-one seed for the Northern division in the CIAA tournament. This means they will advance past the Quarterfinal round and await the winner of the opening-round matchup between Livingstone and Elizabeth City State.

"This win not only caps off an impressive regular season, but also sets us up for a deep run in the CIAA tournament," said Bowie State head coach Shadae Swan. "Our team has worked hard all year, and we're excited to represent the HBCU community on the biggest stage."
