Posted By: Will Moss on February 27, 2026 Florida A&M University, North Carolina A&T University, and Miles College emerged victorious at the third annual Arcis-HBCU Golf Championship, claiming titles in a fiercely competitive three-day tournament that showcased the depth of talent across HBCU athletic programs. The championship, held from February 21-23 at The Club at Weston Hills in Weston, Florida, brought together 17 men's and women's teams comprising a 95-player field for the 54-hole team tournament. The event demonstrated not only athletic excellence but also the growing corporate commitment to supporting HBCU sports programs through sustained partnership. Championship Results: Florida A&M defended its Men's Division I title with a two-stroke victory over Alabama State, while North Carolina A&T's women defeated defending champion Howard University by four strokes. Miles College captured the Men's Division II crown, edging Winston-Salem State by four strokes. Individual Champions ShineIndividual honors went to standout performers across all divisions. Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul of Florida A&M claimed the men's Division I individual championship, defeating North Carolina Central's Mateo Zolezzi. In the women's competition, Ekaterina Prokhorova of North Carolina A&T successfully defended her 2025 title, winning for the second consecutive year. Adrian Raya of Miles College took the men's Division II individual title after defeating teammate Braydon Moye and Godfrey Nsubuga of Winston-Salem State. The narrow margins of victory across all divisions highlighted the competitive balance among HBCU golf programs, with Florida A&M's two-stroke triumph particularly notable as they successfully defended their championship from the previous year. Beyond Competition: Professional Development and Community ImpactThe tournament extended far beyond competition on the course, offering student-athletes critical professional development opportunities. Throughout the three-day event, participants had access to networking sessions with corporate representatives and coaches, along with dedicated career sessions designed to prepare them for life after college athletics. A featured highlight was the HBCU Alumni and Divine Nine Challenge, which brought together college alumni, members of Black sororities and fraternities, and athletes and entertainment celebrities for golf and social events, creating valuable networking opportunities across generations. Arcis Golf, the tournament host, demonstrated its commitment to community engagement by organizing a "Club-in-Hand Golf Clinic" on Saturday for first-time golfers from the Rita & Rick Case Boys & Girls Club of Broward County. Three PGA professionals from the South Florida PGA Section taught participants the fundamentals of driving, chipping, and putting, expanding access to the sport among young people in the local community. The tournament's continued growth—now in its third year—signals the expanding role of corporate partners like Arcis Golf in supporting HBCU athletics while providing student-athletes with experiences that combine athletic competition, professional development, and community service.
